I'm thinking about adding a fishing (radar) arch to my 208 Grady next year. I have a full Bimini and prefer that to a hard top. The arch will be great for rod holders, antennas, lights etc.
In doing the research I've come up with two possible sources. Atlantic Towers in New Jersey and Vinny's Welding in Babylon, L.I. Both are about the same price. Has anyone out there had any dealings with either of these companies? Has anyone seen either of their work? Can anyone recommend anybody ekse in the area?
Vinny boasts that his arch is stronger and the top of the arch is curved to follow the shape of the Bimini. He does the installation and to save some $$$ I have to bring the boat to him.
Atlantic Towers ships the tower to me and I install. The top of their tower is flat, other than that the both of them are basiclly the same.
Thanks in advance for any input on this.......Joe

Radar Arch

fishnjoe,

Just had a T-top built for my boat by Vinney the Welder in East Moriches.

Bought a New 23' Parker and had him fabricate the top to what I will be adding as far as equipment and antennas.

I supplied him with LEE Sidewinder Outriggers that he installed into the top also. Welded, not bolted.

He does nice work and his price was very reasonable.

Vinney @ 631-874-8995.

He does a lot of work for White Water Marine.

I highly recommend him, and am no way or form affliated with him.

Tell him Andy with the the 23' Parker C/C sent you.

First of all,

is it vinny in Babylon or Moriches? If ther is a guy in Babylon I would like to know about it.

Second off all, you have another option. South Shore Custom Towers in Farmingdale.

He does excellent work, but you pay for what you get.

Vinney the Welder..........

Vinney the Welder is who I used, and he is in and works out of East Moriches.

I bought a new 23' Parker C/C and had him build me a T-Top, as to the size as height, and what I am going to install electronic's wise
.
This way he made sure I had plenty of work area for installing antenna's, and he made sure there where enough Platform area's for anything else that I might want to ad down the line.

I purchased the LEE Sidewinder outriggers, and brought them to him and he Installed them accordingly to instructions for recommended strengh in the installation.

He also made a little wider for when I install Curtains in the future.
He does a lot of work for White Water in Sayville, and does nice work.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll be heading over to Vinney's Welding In EAST MORICHES for my arch.
Andy when I spoke to him I mentioned that you recommended him and saw the pics you posted of his work.
Thanks again and Happy Holiday's to all.

POMF,

I won't be having the work done until the spring. But I will certainly post the results, good or bad, and a pic when the job is completed.

Thanks again and Happy Holiday's to all.....Fishnjoe
