I have an old Penn tuna stick that I'd like to hang on to for Sharking(5'6" 50-130 line). It's pretty weathered though... the white (blank itself) is slightly discolored, the epoxy is wearing thin and the roller guides are a little oxidized. (besides, I'd like different colored wraps too;) )
The Gimbal butt, grips and real site are all fine.

Approx. What would it run me to do the above mentioned work...would it be worth it? and does anyone have any recomendations on who to go to?

Thanks

Tackle shops that do rod repair work typically charge $15-20 per guide to rewrap a guide plus the cost of replacing the guide if needed. For a 5-guided rod you are looking at a minimum of $100. If the blank needs to be refinished than there will be an additional cost.

I would check several of the tackle shops that do rodbuilding and repairs for a quote. Here are a few that come to mind: Sea Isle and Donart in Freeport, Steve Petrie at Amity Harbor Bait and Tackle and Capt. Neil Faulkner in Sayville.

Good Luck.
