I'm in the process of upgrading electronics my 25' Parker SC...and looking to add a radar and chart plotter. Due to limited space, I am taking a close look at the radar/chartplotter combo units from Raymarine (R70RC), Furuno (NavNet 1722), and JRC (1800). Raymarine's unit is far more expensive than the other two (is it worth it??) Any feedback on any of these units or overall experience with these mfg. would be EXTREMELY helpful in making my decision.

Thanks for all the feedback and information. Mad Mahi, you certainly confirmed what I was thinking in regards to the Raymarine prices.....aewsome unit but not sure if it is worth 50% more than the comparable Furuno unit. Mad Mahi....where did you end up purchasing your unit?? Thanks again for all the great feedback!!!

Mad Mahi,

You have definitely done your homework...and as a result, I'm leaning toward the Furuno. However, the only concern I have with the Navnet units is the fact that I don't believe that there GPS sensors are WAAS. Wondering what your thoughts (or anybody else) are on the lack of WAAS with these units. JRC has a color Radar/CP that looks decent and has a WAAS sensor.

Mad Mahi,

Thanks for the insight on this issue. It has definitely given me some direction around radars and plotters. In looking at my helm, I have purchased the Garmin 2006C and have ordered the Furuno 1722 combo unit. This way....getting the best mfg for each unit.

Thanks Again...
