Do you think you could bring the fish to your line more then the others ? What I mean is there have been times when Blackfishing , I would lift my rod tip up and let it down quickly so the sinker would bounce on the bottom I would repeat this 4 - 6 times then keep the line very still and then get a fish . At times I would also let a belly in the line and bring the rod tip up enought not to lift the sinker off the bottom but remove the belly and repeat this a number of times and then keep it still and then get a fish . Also in the past I have had much luck with tossing away from the boat and slowly lead my bait back and this has produced . Thanks .

Mike - I don't care what the weather is, I have off from work, and am going to lose 6 Personal days if I don't take them. So I'll be out ther probably, unless I change plans and go down to the Mohawk in NJ. From the looks of it, it will be a 2-day OE marathon for me.

OK I will know for sure tommarrow at 3pm if I'm free , right now it looks good for tuesday . Monday don't look good 6-9's is the forecast but tuesday looks fishable 3-5's and should get better as the day goes on 2-4's . With the winds out of the north should be a good ride out . I'll buy the coffee . I want to try a sidewinder reel , never used one before . Looks like fun . Maybe I can fish near the big guy and get some tips . I need to sharpen my skills .

Mike - 9 keepers to 7 pounds for me, pretty much the same amount of fish for most guys on the boat. Some did better, a few did a lot worse. Pool was 8 1/2.

I'll be out there tomorrow as well as Saturday.

MIKETUNA...i use all these techniques, and i can say that everything you mentioned does make a difference when the fish are not biting right. I used to fish with a commercial pinhooker out of the bay that Mike now fishes with. I used to do this, and he never caught on, about bouncing the sinker a couple of times, cutting the bait a certain way, taking the belly out of the line without raising the sinker and casting away from the boat, especially on the shallow water wrecks. These are very valuable tricks that you should always remember. Its not every day when the tog are just cheweing their heads off.
Boy, these are the things that make a difference on those tough days!

Billy40 , I see you tommorrow .

EC Thanks for the come back . Was looking for your opinion . By the way the other day I had some time and went back to that great dicussion on Black Fishing . I started to copy the tread From you and Togmasters posts . When I finished I had paper work 1/2" thick . I couldn't believe it . I figured It would be good stuff to go back to now and then . I also couldn't see just letting all that work just go off and never see it again . I organized it a little bit and later that evening sat down and read it all . I must say I felt like I was reading a book . Even the way you guy worded everthing . Told about experances and all the info was enjoyable to read . Better than some fishing books I've read before

Now its none of my business but I think you guys should definatly get together and write a book . It seems your halfway there . I know that I would look foward to one and most certainly purchase it .

Thanks again Guys for sharing This with all of us .

PS I will be adding that last post .
