Q?

What exactly happened to this boat? It's weird all the work they've put into it and then selling it? Wiring? Did she take on water?

No matter....If you're going to take it easy with her, sounds like a nice boat. However, this is NOT an offshore/canyons boat. The hull was just not made for that kind of beating & nothing else on her was either.

Alternative if you want to fish hard? A '90 or so Henriques, try to get low hours 3208's, get the boat around 100 & put 50 into her. THEN you will have a fishing boat that'll last you forever.

Looking at what they put in new tells me that, that boat defiantly saw something wrong either it sank OR got hit buy lightining and fried everything. Older Luhrs arent boats that are known to be completley redone. If i was you i would look for a newer luhrs or look for a old bertram, etc.. that was redone.

I actually used to fish on an older luhrs and it was ok, shark fishing or drifting in general was really bad though, it pitched like crazy. The one I fished on had cats and ran pretty well, until a head sea and you had to really pull them back.

Knowing your current boat, this wount be a good fit in my opinion. you can find a lot more boat then that for 150K. like mentioned ealier an older bertram or henriques is always a sound investment. I would look into maybe a viking express. Prices are dropping like crazy right now.

that luhrs older hull in heavier seas OUCH

LIKE gusto45 says okay for limited offshore, that hull just isn't designed for slicing through larger waves while maintaining a fairly level course, that hull rocks back and forth A LOT, while trying to maintain various headings in larger seas. I've seen them tip over those with towers to the water on the older hulls, which like some here say maybe this boat had a prior issue and was made to look like a new ex girlfriend with the same old ex girlfriend problems.

like most have said not hardcore fishing boat but the wife will like the interior 100% better then any Enrique or Bertram . i convinced my wife on a 32 blackfinn after she refused to go to the canyon .Deep V is the way to go under 40 foot otherwise stay over 40 feet in a modify ed v

I had a dealer tell me when they carried Luhrs, they never made a friend or a loyal customer. I just saw one with Struts bent and bottom cracked from running over a poly line boobytrap from a pot, looked to me like built very poorly. They also had a lot of problems with venting the motors, rigging , etc.... . You'd be better served lighting the $150k+ on fire .

striker3... i gotta say, i love my families 39 royale, we loved it enough to rehab the entire boat as we couldnt come to sell it... economical too for what it is, twin engine 40 foot express that can do an overnight canyon trip from niantic on 270 gallons isnt too bad.

just wondering what some of you may think the top 10 sport fishers between 27-35 feet??

I would put the 35 henriques maine coaster in there (older and a bit slow, but a fishing machine) 31-35 Bertram, Cabo 35, henriques 28 is a very nice ride, Topaz 37 (I know, over 35, but prices are cheap on those needing rehab) Conch 27 with a single inboard, Contender 27

I dont really have a "Top Ten" in mind, but thinking in terms of Good bluewater hulls, this is what I would want to be on, ( Other than my 38 Henriques ) if things were getting ugly at the canyons.
