These reels have been out for a while, and yet nobody seemes to be hyping them up. It's got to be poor marketing effort by Quantum. I picked one of
these up for a song out of curiousity more than anything else, and was completely blown away by the reel! And it takes a lot to impress me. Much as I love Avet 30's, this oversized Zebco outclasses them pretty bad. The two stand out features are Accurate style twin drag, and get this - an inovative preset mechanism that can be adjusted while the reel is in gear! The Aruba's got more than enough drag to fish 130lb topshots, excellent free spool, and no bearing binding issues that I could detect. The ratchetting drag lever moves effortlessly, the handle knob is geat, the gear shifting is flawless, and the reel is conviniently topless. I couldn't find anything wrong with it. Maybe it could stand to be a couple of ounces lighter. I just don't understand why it's not eating up the 30-sized reel market share.
