hey, i was looking at one of my rods and the second eye from the tip is cracked. the line was feeling really abrazed and i guess that was why. so do i just cut off the old thread that is holding the eye to get it off. do i have to re-epoxy the whole rod to make it look right after doin one eye? and is there any way i could put a wrap on the rod and then refinish over the whole rod, because there are some chips in the rod now?
thanks

The easiest thing to do isjust to have a new guide wrapped on, you can certainly refinish the whole rod but should probably strip off all the guide to do that. this can be quite an undertaking if you have not done it before. i think it may be best to have a new guide put on so you can get through the rest of the season and see what you want to do then
