i've never been in a pungo but plan to test one soon. my very lightweight canoe failed the wind test at glen island. would appreciate any feedback on what it's like to be in a pungo in the wind. thanks.

Hey yonkers...Maybe someday this week we can meet at glenn island and go out on a kayak, you find that a kayak is much more fishable, I haeve done plenty of fishing out of a canoe and is fine for some applications, but a kayak is a different world. It is a good time to fish glenn island-I did about 25 bass on sat afternoon-into the night.

Every person who I know that got a kayak after being a canoe user is amazed at how superior a kayak is to a canoe for fishing, especially in the salt. They're much less affected by wind, handle well with one person, and are considerably faster and more stable. Nobody goes back and most guys sell the canoe.

PUNGOS IN THE WIND

JOEY - WISH I HAD SEEN YOU ON SAT BECAUSE I WAS THERE IN THE AM. LAUNCHED FROM THE PARK AND WENT SOUTH. NOTHING.
WOULD LIKE TO CHECK OUT THE HOT SPOTS WITH YOU. I'LL BRING THE CANOE.
JON - I'VE GOT A 39" WIDE CANOE. VERY STABLE, CAN STAND UP AND CAST, DOESN'T MOVE TOO FAST BUT OTHER THAN THE WIND ISSUE IT WORKS GREAT.
