I'll second H&H Propeller. They are not on the Island but fixed a prop problem I had when people on the Island could not. Call John at 1-866-335-7767 at their place in Essex, CT.
S&S props in Queens helped me with a problem I was having, they were perfect after the first attempt. I have also heard that H&H does excellent work. More locally Bosler and Sweezey in Bellport are the go to people
I've had work done by S&S and was very happy with them. Last time I used a guy in RI, just for convienxe sake, and he also did a great job. Ocean props in Riverside RI.

I've been thinking about sending my prop and shaft out for inspection...what is the approximate cost?
It depends on what they have to do. The guys I used last time in RI had one of those prop scan machines and he charged me $75 to scan and clean up the prop that didn't need any work. The prop that needed work cost me about $300.
the prop has no dings or bends (that I can see)...since I'm planning to replace the flax in the stuffing box it would also be a good time to send the shaft out to verify that it's straight & true.
I thought the prop facility in Essex closed...
