Generally speaking, the Springtime at Orient is the best chance you have for catching fish in great numbers. During the last 15 years, I've organized trips on charterboats during that time and have rarely been disappointed. Keeper-size-wise, the fish will usually range from 28 - 34 in. with largest being maybe 36 in. However, there are always exceptions on any given day. During that time of year, almost all of the action is in the daytime, with bucktails and diamond jigs accounting for most or all of the action. If you can't get a spot on Capt.
