I am planning to buy a 12' Surf casting Ugly Stik for $50 used. Should I pay that price or buying it for less? How much should I ask the seller for?

Hi.

Since I don't know the price of this rod new I am not in a position to say how much you should offer for it. However $50.00 for a surf stick sound pretty good IF:
the tip top and guides are not grooved (the rings,
The wraps are tight and epoxy coating is not cracked,
the grips are in good shape and not loose on the blank,
the reel seat is not loose,
there ane no cracks in the blank.

Test cast it if you can.
