Hello ALL! After a mild winter and lots of preparation we were back on the grounds today. I wish I could write saying that we slaughtered them and hype up this season but it was a just a solid start to what I can see as being another great season. Despite the forecast we still had around 20 anglers that managed to stay in good spirits even with the pouring rain. We picked all day with some life everywhere we went. The fish seemed to be there but just hanging on the bait (lots of half spearing coming up and the people who used smaller bounces with bucktails did better. And Dragging bait and buck tailing worked about the same. Pink seemed to be the best color. High hook was young Haylee who I was afraid the boys we were going to use her for bait if she caught one more fish!By the end of the day the rain left and the sun came out so we stayed out a little later to enjoy the warm weather and good conversation. All the fish looked healthy fat and good color so I think once we get a day with a decent drift and a little more fine tuning they will chew just fine. There is also some porgy's showing up so watch the reports in case we push our beginning porgy date up BUT its always porgy time on the Osprey so clam is available is anyone wants) Thank you again to our die hards who braved the rain to be there opening day! -Tight lines Amanda On a side note please give me a call 516-449-3255 for any questions. and we are cancelled tomorrow the wind looks not so nice and some last min things that we would like to get done on the boat. thanks! <like href="http://www.noreast.com/postedreports/view.cfm?id=148007" send="false" show_faces="false" width='layout="button_count"'></like> |
