Never used porgy skins, but I've been using bunker strips for fluke and have been killing them.Just filet a bunker and cut it length wise into four strips slap on a squid strip and your good to go.Just keep the bunker on ice or it turns to mush.Porgy skins would probably work as good.

I'm also a fan of a nice 5" strip of Bunker and Squid, as well as brown and white Fluke strips.
Brown fluke strips

Interesting. Have not heard of anyone using anything but the bellies.
We?re you successful with them??

Brown works just as well as the white, just like a strip of anything will work. It's just a matter of how well it stays on the hook. A buddy of mine used to put a white belly strip and a brown back stip on one hook to make it look like a small fluke....white on the bottom and brown on top.
I think the best is a strip of dog fish. It stays nice ans "full" all day not likr ther fish strips which only has the skin left after a few drifts.

Apparently you can.
Just interested in their effectiveness.
I doubt if it?s ?illegal?.
You can only remove the white side of the fluke, and then you must have the rack with the top side still attached. This fish counts towards your limit of 4.

You may not posess any other fluke or part of from a previous days fishing.

That's the rule in New York the rules in other states will differ. There is no such rule is you are fishing in federal waters, like between Block Island and Montauk.

The bunker strip gives the flash of the baitfish. It may not have the eyes and head but it works well.Give it a shot. You'll like.

Bunker strips work very well. I've also used any white belly skin with varied degrees of success. Some last longer than others. Sea robin and fluke belly are among my favorites to use as strips and produce consistently.
