the reef

There is a small artifical reef just past the lighthouse on the way to the brisge. It was made a few years ago with old cement tubes etc. I don't know if it produces but it is worht s shot. If I had the #'s I would give them to you.

NY State DEC will send you a packet with the locations by Lat. and Long. and probably by GPS that has every artificial reef. Hey, get something for your taxes! But do you have to be over a hard reef to catch porgies?

I've done well in the past right outside East Channel can #7 (right on the corner where East & West Channels meet) during the first and last hours of the tide. I have no idea why, it really does defy the logic of porgy fishing since the only structure i've ever found there is the buoy anchor, but stuff likes to hang out there. I've done well with weakies as well as porgy/seabass/kingfish too....
