They showed in good numbers on the east end of long island during June of last year. They stuck around the entire season until early November or so.
PORGIES
Last year i fished for porgies for the first time. I have caught them many times in the past, but always thought of them as a pain in the ass fish. I had alot of fun with them in august and september. I would like to know more about the porgy run.
WHEN CAN YOU START CATCHING PORGIES?
ARE THEY AN ALL-SUMMER THING? CAN YOU CATCH THEM IN THE SPRING? OR DO THEY ARRIVE ONLY WHEN THE WATER GETS UN USUALLY WARM.
