We had a little discussion about this a couple months ago.. I even posted on another site that's more local to Northern MA, Southern NH & ME.. this is the area you'd think it might work, they are supposed to be there & the water temps stay about right. I don't think anyone ever targets them.
Nobody really seemed to know - I got a couple discouraging replies, basicly saying that sharking season was July - Sept. Porbeagles are supposidly caught in the sharking season; but, from what the information on the behavior on the species says, porbeagle season should be right now. If I remember correctly the water inshore, after last years mild winter, was 45 F.
Provided my boat holds together for pre-season, the weather cooperates & misc bad things don't happen, I hope to give it a shot sometime around the end of next month. The plan is to set up on some inshore ledges & get some ground fishing in too.
