trying to find pogies in the bay in rhode island with no luck for two days now...all i hear is that the pogies are soo thick you can walk on em....well i mustve fell through?!?! where are they

seen some being poached on the North Shore here last night.. some of the biggest I ever seen, 2 at a time, guy had a bagful..every cast..

You guys are talking about different fish. "pogies" is RI speak for bunker. Last weekend I heard that they were thick on the east side of the bay and even in Newport harbor and the Providence river. No reports since then, so I don't know if that's changed. Hope that helps.

thanks makomike...yah i forget that everyone doesnt call them pogies...i saw a video on youtube of pogies in the providence river all around the water fire baskets, you should check it out...

Every morning for the last week, Gano Street at the Barrier or under the bridge in Pawtucket. They are also all over the bay being blasted by Bass. Saw 12 blitzes the other day in open water. Large schools, not pods. Greenwich bay and Colt state park have their share as well.
