Years ago, when on my first boat and there were still winter flounder in South Oyster Bay, I used it to cover some lead sinkers. It works until a tear occurs, than it tends to peel off in fairly large pieces, but it did hold up pretty well. I also have the handles of a pair or two or pliers that I put it on, even with some use, most of the plastic is still on the handles. You do want to have a bunch of stuff lined up to coat- doesn't last that long once opened, at least in my case.
