I OWN AN 85 TIARA WITH A PITTED ALUMINUM WINSHHIELD FRAME. I WAS THINKING OF SANDING IT WITH FINER AND FINER SANDPAPER DOWN TO 600 OR SO, THEN SEALING IT WITH LACQUER. WILL THIS WORK. WHAT ABOUT POWDER COATING OR PAINTING. ANY SUGGESTIONS, THANKS
If the aluminum is really badly pitted, so that its not worth trying tpo polish back up, then the easiest thin to do is to coat it with a UV resistant epoxy and then paint it.
