I fished with an old high school friend. We started trolling white and green bunker spoons outside the inlet. We hooked up with two bass within an hour. 32 inch and 34 inch. Not huge but good eating size. We sailed over to the AB reef to try for blackfish. We landed over a dozen shorts to 15 3/4 inches. Several short seabass and a few spiny dogfish as well. We gave up on the blackfish and decided to troll again with hopes of picking up a bluefish. We spotted several whales off of Long Beach. There was a Coast Guard boat and some guys in a small zodiac watching over them. No more fish on the troll except for several bunker that were snagged by our bunker spoons.
