I recenlty came across this photo of a big Mako shark that a friend gave me. He said that the fish was over 1,000 pounds and he caught it off Southern California on a Penn 50W. The fish was too big to put on board so they side tied it to get it back to the landing and then they couldn't get it up on the dock scales. It was sinking the floating dock due to the weight. They finally got it out of the water on a boat trailer.

He got telephone death threats for killing the shark as it was thought to be a breeder in the Mako breeding area off San Clemente Island. So for a while he requested that his name be kept a secret.

I just wanted to share the pic with you guys.

Are you sure your friend isn't telling you a fish tale?

jollyroger,

do you never ever pass up a chance to try to take a run at shark fisherman, on a fishing website? give it a rest already. find another audience.

are you working to get the regulations changed with regard to bag limits on sharks? if not, go spread your drivel elsewhere.
