Im a huge fan of Penn reels made in the USA. Penn Spinfishers and Z reels in particular. I use these reels for most of my fishing. Also have some mint reels just sitting around in my collection. This thread is for the Penn fan. I would like to see who like which reels and uses them for what type of fishing. Latty, lets see em

I use my Penn 706z for bait fishing in the surf on a 10'6 St Croix.
704/704z for heavy plugs 3oz and up on my 10ft lami. 710/710z on my 9ft tica for plugs 2oz and lower. 712/712 on my 8ft airwave for light plugs and flukin in the surf. My maximizer rod from Capt Neil has been an all around rod for me from boat and surf. When I want to fish light i will use this on the jetties with a Penn 714/714z ultrasport to have some fun fighting those fluke.
So, lets hear it, what do you use your penn reels for and lets see some pics of those beauties.

Here is some of mine...

I have been using the 722/722z for fluking on the party boats. The high speed spinfisher has been a great reel for this. People look at me wierd when I use these little reels

Some of these pics i took myself, the others are from ebay when i bought them off there as i never took a pic of those reels. Everyone of these reels i have in my collection.
Im in the hunt for a black 710 spinfisher. I have my eye on one right now actually ;);) Only a handful of those reels were made. 711 model too.

Overall, the 712/712z is the most versatile reel of all the greenies and Z reels. It can hold alot of line and pack a good punch if you hook a nice bass. I was suprised at how much drag these reels have.

I know alot of surf guys on here swear by the 710 and 704. Why spend big bucks on a Zeebas or Van Staal when you can get a Penn :)
I have fished with these 2 reels and im only impressed with the Zeebaas, never pulled in a fish with such ease.
