Drags

Drem,

I recommend that you service the reel as well as put in a new drag kit, if needed. Many tackle shops sell the drag kits and they are fairly inexpensive (maybe $9.95 or so). The kit includes the HT-100 drags as well as the metal drags. If you know how to service the reel and replace the drags, go right ahead. If not, almost any tackle shop could do it for you.

With the Penn 113h replace what is worn out first, bridges, gears, drags, and bearings. You can also upgrade the spool to aluminum if you still have the brass spool. After that there are always accurate sideplates and highspeed gears.
Follow the links to the reels at this site for the parts and prices for all the Penn reels.
