What can we expect from the results of the mild winter { assuming the weather keeps up} as far as-
Bass, get out the bucktails because the schoolies could be here early, what March?
The fluke, could we see them " in" very early?
The Macks, I think late April, 47 deg. water if not mistaken, they could show early/
Summer months, will this winter effecyt the arrival of Tuna, maybe some southeren species to our area?, sharks maybe too. any comments from past experiences from you salty old dogs out there.

Hi Alan,
I brought this subject up with Crazy Al a few weeks ago, and most people felt it was due to the El Nino re-occurence. By the way, a posted report on 2/4 from the Capt. Al stated that they had already caught the first Fluke of the season!!!! Might be a very good year for triggers and Pilot fish !!! Hope your back in the water this year and posting your heart out !! GOOD LUCK !!

Scalawag, There are still clouds of what look like big shiners in the creek where I dock. I have also seen a few swirls early in the AM along the marshes by crooked creek. I have a feeling that alot of the smaller bass wont even make the migration if the water temps and bait availability stay high.

THANKS ALOT

buoy 44025 today has the water temps @43 degs.
I didnt compare to other years but it's gotta be a few degrees above the norm.
I checked the weather on ALO homepage & this week the temps are supposed to dip to 10 degs. tue, wed. at night only though. like 40's during the day. Thats pretty wild fluctuation.
I still think we could get a big snow storm.
I'll be in the water March though, boats pretty much ready now.
I'll go investigate those swirls. Maybe it was seals!!? Its going to be a fun year!!!
Im very psyched.
Wanted to add that the weatherman last night said this winter's been 7 DEGREES above nor., average.
Thats pretty good I bet things are going to happen real soon this year & pretty much all @ once,
Alan

I think, inspite of the milder winter, the season will play out more or less as normal. A few of the early season/cold water spots may not do as well (such as LILCO) but otherwise the rest of the season will be more or less normal in terms of time tables.
