Since "Red Ball" Master series wader are not made any more, I am thinking about buying a pair of Orvis "Pro Guide Clearwater" boot-footed breathable waders. They have a 4-year unconditional guarantee. They cost about $295. Since I wear out my waders every year or so I thought they might be a better investment. (Comfort/price/guarantee) Any one out there has a pair of these or any other Orvis waders? If so how do you like them?

Haven't used them per se. But from what others have told me they're good.

Tide, I own the Hiking Boot wader with laces from Orvis. They were $249.00 when I bought them 3 yrs ago. They are great! Is pricey as you know. But if you ever had a problem with them, they take them back with no questions asked.I had a tear in my pair(no leak) , went to their store and before I even had a chance to explain the problem, had a new pair in my hands. The lace up boots are good only for those long beach walks where other waders would irritate your heel.Don't lace in when using them in rough water due to safety concerns.

Orvis

Orvis has a store on Glen Cove road just north of Northern Blvd. They said you can try them on before buying. Like you said they will take them back no questions asked. You can't beat that kind of surface.

As a side note:

My nephew lost one of my new Korkers this fall out in Montuak. I called Korker and asked them if I could buy just one shoe. The rep told me not to worry and he sent me the one I needed free of charge. Its nice to see companies back up their products like this. It makes me want to do continued business with them.
