Nice start to the Blackfish season this past weekend. Saturday morning saw a good pick on the first drop for a sold out 21 angler Open Boat/Split Charter. A couple of guys limited in the first hour and many shorts, most 14.5 to 15.75 inches released. The day turned real nasty after that with rain and a stiff cold breeze. Picked away and finished with right around 2 keeper Tog per angler that stuck it out at the rail. Jordan took the pool with a 6 pounder and had his limit. Mr. Lee limited and had a load of shorts. Daniel and Walter had 5 between them to 5 pounds. Robert had his limit to 5 pounds. Randy had 3 good ones to 5 pounds in the bow. Not a bad start on a hardcore weather day. Raw! Sunday's 14 angler Charter for Bob and friends had nicer weather and an excellent first couple of drops nearly limiting the boat by 9am plus many many shorts. Jessie took the pool with a beautiful 7.25 pound Blackfish, and there were a few in the 6 pound class. Ken was high hook landing 20+ Tog with 7 keepers to 6 pounds. Robert and Joyce had 5 nice ones with Joyce limiting. Bob and friends in the stern all limited. Took a few drops later in the day to pick the last few as the bite cooled off on the flood tide but the day was more than made. Besides a limit on the Tog, lots of Sea Bass and some Porgies jumped on the hooks. Good day!
