We bought those batteries at last years NY boat show. 2 blue tops for starting and 1 yellow for the house (inverter) and they where great batteries. Never had a problem starting the boat. Then they got stolen so we bought another set this year and put a lock on the battery box. But in my opion they are well worth the money.

Bottom,
I'm in the market for a new battery and these intrigued me. But their equivalent for a 4D size doesn't have the same amp/hours rating as my current gel cells (prevailer), so I don't think I'll be using them.

So, guys, what do you think is a good all around battery for a reasonable price? And where do you get them? Forget about the very expensives, gels, tricked out stuff...
Let's hear some recommendations for the best 'regular' battery.

Interstate

Just got new Interstates, 1 750/550 Deep cycle and 1 1000/800 cranking batteries.
150 and change for both at the Interstate distriubator in Patchouge on West St.

Open M-F till 5
Open Sat till 1.

Right down the block from the boat.

Any problems with em I will have a new one in and going in 45 minutes.

Sometimes it is better to go local, you might spend a couple of bucks more but like I said they are about 6 blocks from me.:)

Duralast

Duralast Marine Deep Cycle + Starting, sold at auto-zone, have a good warranty. Reserve Minutes 210, Amp Hours 125, MCA 875, CCA is obviously lower. I tried to get them out of the battery box far enough to read the CCA, but it will require dumping them out.

When I bought them they were about $65 a piece & have gone two seasons so far. Hold a solid charge all winter w/ no maintainence. I'll buy another set when these go.

My Interstate that came with my 99 Sea Pro is about to start its FIFTH season.
I plan on carting my booster pack around this year! Should I expect it to fail soon? (I wish my car batteries always went 4 years plus!)

Single battery?

If that interstate is the only battery I'd start by buying at least a second battery & installing a switch. There's no good reason to be out in salt h20 on a single battery. Yes, 4 seasons is about enough, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it ;).. if you notice that it is holding less of a charge (between trips it dies or turns the engine over more slowly), then I'd replace it ASAP.

Need 2

Like Leaky said install the switch and scond battery.

I have a lot of electronics on the boat and run them off the deep cycle and the ohter is a cranking battery,1000 amps and 800 cold cranking amp.

After 4 years that battery owes you nothing.I would go for the whole new set up or get a good Sea-Tow package.:)
