After 14 years of use my twin 225 Ocean Pros are getting tired, so I am considering re-powering with a pair of E-tecs of similar horsepower.
I want to hear from E-tec owners about their satisfaction with these engines.Reliability? Economy? I have been told that fuel economy will improve by 25-33%.
I do not need anyone trying to tell me about other makes.I buy American, not Jap imports.
Thanks for any input.

I hate to break this to you but E-Tec is not American, it's made by a Canadian company.

Canada is part of North America.. So I would have to say that E-Tec is made by a North American Company and I think he said he wanted an American made. Just didn't specify!

250 E-Tec

got one in june, better on gas at the lower rpm range, sips oil. Have the dealer get them on the XD-100 oil from the start. Starts with 10 amps and puts out around 50 amps. But the best is how Quiet they are.
