I just picked up a Tsunami 8ft Trophy Surf rod.

I'm looking at to buy either a Tica Dolphin SE6000 or SE9000

Or an Okuma Epixor EB50 or EB65

Any of you guys have any experience with either of these reels?

Maybe add some input on which one and which size.

I have an Okuma ABF50, I don't care for it. The bait runner on this reel is junk. I currently have Shimano Baitrunner 6500 & 4500. The 6500 is a bit heavy, but strong. The 4500 is perfect. I'm planning on getting another 4500 as soon as Dick's sporting Goods has a decent sale/coupon.
That's just my opinion

shoulda got the dolphin rod in the 8ft model. get a shimano shperos much better then both those reels.

Quantum Boca 40, not that expensive around $130 and its perfect for an 8fter. I have the 7ft tsunami trophy and love it. Use it for fluke from the jetties along w/ my 8ft airwave

Appreciate the input guys but.

#1 I do not like Shimano products. Just my preference. I have always had bad luck with anything Shimano I have bought. As far as I am concerned I will NOT buy Shimano. Again, just my preference

#2 I am really looking to buy the Tica Dolphin or Okuma Epixor.

Not trying to start a debate on which OTHER reels are the best for the money. As I'm sure you all have your favorites.

Someone I know has a surplus of the 4 reels I mentioned and I am able to get them a bit cheaper than retail.

my boca is a piece i gotta say it!i wash it and everything either its caught to many fish in the past 4outings or it just sucks when it gets wet by the saltwater and starts making noise.

I have a okuma

And so does a friend, both over 4 years old, no problems yet.
Not the best reel in the world but not bad for the money.
But at this rate mine will last forever, I have no time to fish

yesterday i became a big fan of daiwa saltiga surf ...the smallest one is still big but it doesnt weigh a thing ...pricey yes about 400 but cant beat its overall configuration
