Oil spill in Norwalk CT.

5555 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  googin
A barge ran aground 2 miles south of Norwalk CT and dumped about 10-15000 gallons of heating oil into the sound. This really burns me up with all the technology and advacements we have made these idiots still find a way to run aground. This sickens me and they better **** well make sure they clean this up the best that they can. God only knows what kind of impact this is going to have on the fisheries end of it especially the shellfish. Its one thing when you read about this kind of stuff happening but its a whole new ball game when its in your back yard.

Sirs i do't quite know were you get your info there was not 15000 gallons of"type 2 diesel" dumped into the sound. An osrv(OIL SPILL RESPONSE VESSEL) from my company( NRC) was on scene the spill was boomed and skimmered, at this point it appears to be consideribly less then 15000 gallons. the sit has been deemed stable by uscg
