What would you use to pump out the oil in a 671 Detroit diesel....Those 12 volt pumps that are attached to a bucket SUCK...I do have a oil drain fitting on the bottom of the oil pan plumbed with a ball valve for easy access..... Thanks for the help Harry

My last boat, I had plumbed a pair of these pumps and was happy with them. I mounted the pumps on the bulkhead. (one for each engine). I permanatly wired the pumps to a hot source in the bilge. The pump has it's own switch. It made changing oil simple. The pumps had enough power to pump oil over the transom into my containers on the transom. Since you already have a fitting and valve on your pan, all you need is to connect the hose to your valve. They do offer fittings to connect directly to your pan.
