Hey I live in portjefferson but id like to start fishing for mahi mahi or dolphin whatever u wanna call it... Does anyone know where I can launch out of in suffolk to go for them and how far out pending time of season to go for them any info is great......THANKS!

mid season when the water gets warm i have found them 20 miles out while shark fishing. But i have heard of people getting them much closer to shore. Look for any floating logs, a weedlines, or high flyer's are your best bets to get them.

You can use Captree's state ramp for a small fee and the NA is around 13 miles from FI inlet. Thats a good place to start. It's a nice ramp there also.

you could launch out of Silly Lily's fishing station for like $10 and the parking is secure.....20 fathom line is real close to Moriches inlet and Shinny for that matter.
