We fished the FHA this weekend and ran out to the Virginia. We were the first ones there set up our slick and 15 minutes later another boat sets up in it about 300 yards away. An hour or so later another boat set up just to our north and because he was a bigger boat drifted at a different rate than us and eventually drifted through our slick. And with out fail the minute he hit our slick "Bam" a 210 pound mako. Now aside from sinking these other boats. Is there a propper thing to do.

When fishing big tournaments, esp. when there's more then one tournament the same day, I would try and avoid like the plague, the Virginia, and areas like it. There's plenty of other good real estate out there where you stand a much better chance of being alone, then the Virginia.

You are fooling yourself to think it will be yours alone to fish, regardless if you are the first one there or not.

if you are looking to make a point and be a gentleman you can pick up your lines head for the boat in your slick let him know of the etiquette that was breached and then continue until you are 3000 yards away in his slick ,i say 3000 yards as i believe bullets don't have much power after that .but i was there and i picked the Virgina last week i seen both of you and stayed 3.5 miles to the west at a temp break with tuna chicks ,we had 2 makos by 11;00 we headed in ,it is not the exact spot ,i have never had a spot to my self yet ,also note that there are a lot of guys trolling for shark ,you think they are bluefin fishing but they are trolling for makos, but then again there is not much you can do most Cary guns ,don't want to make it the wild wild west
