ANYONE ELSE HAVE SOME SUGGESTIONS?

Sandman - thanks for the reply.

I did get one private tip regarding weaks on either side of the high tide on the bay. House has a bulkhead about 50 feet off of the back deck - so I'll be trying that. I know the docks can be active at night. Never had much luck on the ocean side. Being a primarily a "river" fisherman guess I'm not used to it. Want to concentrate more on that this time around.

How's the season treating you?

Sorrry Wader,

Looks like you'll get no love here, no matter how much you do the "bump".

Since there is very limited access to surf fish there, I am not surprised by the lack of reports. Unfortunately, I haven't even fished the bayside over there in a while, or I could at least give you a boat report. I haven't seen any posted reports from that area either. It is traditionally a spring fishery, but I am sure there are some fish there. Go down to the flats just east of Point o'Woods and dig some clams. Good luck and have a nice vacation.

WE BE DOIN' THE BUMP & GRIND AGAIN...

Come oN guys - I'm there every year. I see lots of you in surf on the ocean side & off of the docks on the bay side.

What ya been catching & when?

Doughboy - thanks for your reply as well. I'm leaving Monday morning - so's I be bumpin' this sucker until then. I know the access is somewhat limited but I do see a fair amount of anglers fishing from the beach & elsewhere. Figure one or two of them have to visit this site.

Come on guys.............

GIVE IT UP!!!!

RESULTS

Ok Alan - here we go..........

Not a lot of activity - no cows:

Bay
1 weak (artificals - soft plastic)
1 sand shark (took an eel meant for bass)
1 small bass on an eel (about 18 ")
1 fluke (keeper)
6 snappers (on spearing)
1 porgy
Most caught on either side of the incoming during either early morning or at night. All caught off of the bulkhead next to the house. Nothing off the docks. All released.

Ocean
1 ****tail blue (2 oz. castmaster tossed between the jetties)- released.
Lost an eel & the line to what I assume was a decent size bass

Lot of weed on the bay side in close to shore made it a little difficult. You'd only get 20 - 25 feet back on the retrieve before your lures were coated.

Saw a lot of birds working the ocean side just out of casting range (300 to 500 feet) off & on during all 6 days. Kept waiting for them to come in a little closer & they almost did a few times but I would have been casting over the heads of swimmers. For some reason I figured they may not like that (the swimmers - not the fish). So I just stayed were I was & watched the topless sun bathers.

Wild night on Friday when that storm came in. The house was about 20 - 30 feet off of the bay. Had five foot seas kick-up with the top 2 feet of the wave getting blown out of the bay & up against the front picture window by the wind. Great lightning display as well.
