When the US invaded Iraq in 2003 alot of people thought is was because of oil.Maybe it was a good thing we thought about the oil !we did good ! and we destroyed Alqueda at the same time ! Can you imagine if Iraq wasn't selling oil today ? Or if we pull out of Iraq and Iran takes over ? Maybe a democratic Iraq is not a bad thing after all !
Alaska is producing 1/2 the oil it produced 10 years ago, Venezuala is constantly threating an oil embargo against us, Nigeria is very unstable . Our oil supply can be disrupted in an instant and our economy would go into a tailspin.
And the democrats wanna cut your gas tax

Only time will tell. If a democracy is established and Iraq becomes a stabilizing country in the Middle East then I would say it was worth it. However there are storm clouds all around the world! The silent and not so silent drums are beating.

Do you folks remember the gas lines during the 70's? I sure do. How about you could get gas based on your license plate odd/even #? So, was that 30 years ago or what? OR WHAT have our wonderful elected officials done for the good of the American tax payer in terms of enery, oil, gas, electricity etc. I think I can safely say NOTHING!!! BUT, they all looked out for their SELFISH SELVES!!! What is going on today is is the results of them doing nothing. 30 YEARS!!! In that time we could have had real alternative means of energy so we do not have to rely on the foreign oil. Refineries and drilling could be in place NOW! Wind and solar energy would be more advanced and affordable. Ethanol is a JOKE!!! Gee, who is getting rich on that. Look how it has affected food prices.

GREED!!! Remember that word. It drives the world. GO GO funds back in the past, banks being bailed out, GREED! Mortgages given to folks that did not have to finances to pay for their homes, once again GREED on the part of the banks and brokers and the banks have to be bailed out again. I won't even go to WALL STREET, Hedge Funds, Futures and all the other crap shoots that is pure gambling which has nothing to really do with the common folks. But the GREED mongers are getting filthy rich. I think the idea that you can only buy futures if you have the proper place to store all that you purchased on paper. GREED! GREED!! GREED!!! Did I read a Hedge Fuind managers salary was 3.6 BILLION DOLLARS. No one is worth that much!!! GREED! Yeah and he gives most of it to the poor! Don't hold your breath on that!

I could go on and on. The Democrats and Republicans have both been in power. Neither team stepped up to the p[late and did what was right for the American Tax Payer. We pay their salaries and all they do is take care of themselves. They have a better Social Security System than us, better medical plans and if I remember correctly they get elected once and then have a retirement plan that is better than most of us.

Time to stop before I stop using the Queens English! I will vote as usual. My choices leave much to be desired. Good people refuse to run and I don't blame them.!!! But by voting that gives me the right to complain!!!

for what this war has cost us in taxpayer dollars, as far as I'm concerned, all that Iraqi oil should now belong to us and if we don't just take it then we all got screwed big time. Not to mentioned all the GI's who have lost thier lives.

We attacked Iraq because the US intelligence thought there was WMD's (Weapons of Mass Destruction) However, I thought George JR. was looking to settle a score, but everything I have read about the war, he didn't want to attack. George was convinced by two people to attack. Paul Wolfowitz and Donald Rumfeld. They pushed very hard for the war. Both of them were pushing for the war before 9/11. 9/11 was a big item that they used to push the issue of attack. Check out Bob Woodward's book Bush at war. Great insite into what happened.
