I know this full moon thing has been addressed previously, but here goes again: I plan to charter at night for stripers next week and it appears we will fish with eels, either inside Jamaica Bay or in the Atlantic Highlands area. I am debating whether to charter on 11/19, on the full moon vs 11/21. I believe the low tide is around midnight and the capt. said we can fish the entire tide. Also, in the past, I recall using at least ten ounces to hold bottom on a typical night and going as high as 20 oz on some of the party boats fishing that area...I do not generally enjoy using that much weight. I assume we will need it though if we fish on the full moon. Thanks.

Moon and it's wrath>>

the moon is a old story in my eyes for bass. I would say book your trip off the day of the full moon. Seems like the fishing is better off the date of the full moon. Try and fish up to 2 days before or after it.

I love the new moon

Depend on the species your going for. The new moon for bass I find excellent. Had my biggest fish on the new moon. Togg'n can get rough if the tides are ripp'n so thats hard to say. Funnt tuna fishing most say the full moon is a jinx me I love it had 65 yellow fins one full moon many years back. My buddy didn't want to go because of the moon so I still to this day rub it in his face about that one:)
