Take a ride down to Key West for a day. Lots to see and do there and only an hour away. Take the trolley tour first then consider visiting the Treasure Museum. Lots of good restaurants there as well. There's not a whole lot else between Islamorada and Key West

robbies also has back country tours. trips to Lignumvitae State Park. The serenity and isolation of remote islands have always captured man's imagination. Lignumvitae Key is no exception; to step ashore here is to take a step into the past. The Matheson House, built in 1919, has changed little over the years. The virgin tropical forest that thrives here is typical of the kind of scenery that was once enjoyed on most of Florida's upper Keys. As the Keys were developed to accomodate an increasing number of people, most of the unique vegetation was scraped away, making the tropical forest of Lignumvitae Key a very rare and special place. Here, you walk in the shade of trees with strange names like mastic, strangler fig, poisonwood, pigeon plum and gumbo limbo.
Robbie's Eco-Tours are a perfect way to experience the raw beauty and wonder of the Florida Bay. two-hour trips take you on an excursion through passages among the sea grass beds that rim the many protected shallow bays. they take you among the hundreds of small, uninhabited mangrove and hardwood hammock islands, which host an amazing variety of wildlife and create the island network of the Florida Bay.

Like nature, Eco Tours are not scripted. Rather, we will follow your interests, stopping along the way to describe any natural occurrence that presents itself, often at such close distance that binoculars are just in the way. guides have a very well-developed understanding of what makes this part of Earth work, and enjoy sharing their knowledge to educate and inform you.

they also have a Snorkeling boat. The Happy Cat goes out 3 times a day 7 days a week. snorkel day trips are at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. You can also enjoy a ride out for a sunset cruise that leaves at 6:30 p.m. (times are seasonal). Our 2 day trips are $35 for adults and $20 for kids including equipment cost. Our sunset cruise is $25 for adults and $20 for kids to come and unwind while you watch one of America?s most serene sunsets. With plenty of room to relax and enjoy the pleasantries of the Florida Keys our Captain and crew will be able to personally interact with each and every guest aboard the Happy Cat Snorkel Boat.

if you want more info shoot me a pm

Tarpon

Fisherdad is right on the money. You definately have to take the kids to Robbies to feed the Tarpon. Doesn't matter the age they will enjoy it. Robbies has the half day party boat and up the road at Bud-n-Marys has the full day. If your thinking of fishing on either boat they take advance reservations for fishing in the stern.
