I wanted to get a staus check on how other guys thought the show was last night. I surf cast 95% of my fishing time and boat or offshore the other 5%. I found every one of the speakers had numerous "nuggets" or take aways on how to fish better or try something different. Bill W, The Greek, Captain Al & Steve and John Skinner all had great tips and strategies I learned a great deal. Bills Map and description on when to fish the North and South side of Montauk was awesome. Captain Al's duo snap live lining demo looks interesting and I cannot wait to try it. Steve's discussion on Bass migration patterns and bait selection in the Sound were great. John Skinners Bucktail discussion was enlightening. I can't wait to try his system. I have never been very successful with bucktails and now I know why. Lastly the Greek..What can I say the guys a bunker fishing God. He changed my attitude on the old "Bait and Wait" style. The net net from Bill. Don't bait and wait more than 15 minutes. travel light read the beach, know the tide, know the moon, if the spot is dead move on. THIS WAS THE BEST $ 15.00 I EVER SPENT ON FISHING. GREAT JOB GUYS. I heard most of the speakers say they could speak ten days on this or 5 days on that. I for one would pay another $ 15.00 to hear a Surf only show (North Shore-South SHore-East End)or a boat South Shore or a boat North Shore Seminar. KEEP EM COMING

Thanks to All of our Online Users

I wish to thank all of our online users that attended the seminar last night for helping make the event such a huge success. It was great putting faces to the many Noreast.com users that were there, and I truly appreciate your support.

I would also like to thank all of our speakers, as they were without exception excellent! Bill Wetzel, Steve Jagoda of Molly Roze Charters, Billy ?The Greek? Legakis, Captain Al Lorenzetti and our very own John Skinner, captivated the audience and provided them with a wealth of fishing information that only people that know how to catch fish can do! John was the motivating factor behind the seminar and he deserves much of the credit for putting together such a successful event.

I would also like to thank all of the vendors - that did excellent by the way - as well as Captain Neil and Roger Martin for their contributions to the show. And of course we can not forget our good friends at Van Staal for providing us with not one, but two of their famous VS 200 Fishing Reels that were raffled off.

From the huge turn out in attendance, all of which heard about it through the Noreast.com website and the print edition of Nor?east Saltwater, to our speakers and sponsors, I don?t think we have ever had a prouder moment as a publication.

Thanks again and good fishng!

Well worth the effort... Thanks George

I had to take the LIRR from work (Manhattan) in order to get there in time. That wasn't the biggest part of the problem though getting home was. With the hour of night and lack of connections I didn't get home until 1:30 am; two and a half hours of train waiting, transferring and riding for what is a 15-minute car ride. All I can say is that I would do it again tomorrow if you had another event as enjoyable and informative as your seminar was. It was good meeting you and the rest of the "Nor'easters". Yes, the Greek did rule, and now I know that yes, Stripers do have tails. :) Bill Wetzel was a "rip" and provided so much knowledge and most of all an overwhelming contagious enthusiasm. Steve gave me a real and most useful understanding of migration habits, (and thanks Steve for sharing your drinking glass ash tray with me). Although I rarely boat fish, it's great to see that there are still great minds like Captain Al's working to think of new ways to yet improve a sport that has been around since the beginning of time. Good luck Al on your soon to be published book (and soon to be released as a full feature film coming to a neighborhood theater near you J). Last but not least by any means, John Skinner provided me with a wealth of information on buck tailing the surf, a topic that is near and dear to me. The only thing that I take issue with is that they pronounced my name wrong when the called out the winner of the Van Staal reel. For future reference George please take note, it's pronounced S-b-e-r-l-a-t-i and NOT Wyman. :)

Once again, thanks George and all involved for a truly informative and enjoyable evening.

The seminar was very informative. Korkerstud and I were talking about following the Greek to see where he fishes. Great tips and very entertaining. The only thing I would suggest for the next time is to have some food available. Eventhough there was a 7-11 next door. Bucktailing, and Bill's Montauk Map made it into glove box. Bring on the fall.

Would go again tonight if it was on. Excellent. I think the Greek will be fishing in crowded conditions this fall! All the speakers were excelent, Bill W was infectious with his enthsiasm - I want to fish while body surfing now!

I hope you guys keep doing these!
