After a busy winter filled with sports shows and our very own Deck Tech University, the Black Hawk started their fishing this weekend a little earlier than everyone else. We're looking forward to a great season.

Saturday's trips were hampered by high winds, so we only got handful of fish. Sunday was a different day- beautiful weather, and a great day of fishing! In the morning we headed over to Greenport, and everyone got their fill and had all the action they could handle diamond jigging for the early blues.

For the afternoon trip we thought we'd change things up. We'd heard reports there were a few bass caught in Plum Gut, and because of that we thought we'd take a gamble and try to get something in the race- which we did. We found the striped bass there. We were catching them on diamond jigs, bucktails and storm lures. The better fishermen had no problem getting their limit. The fish weren't huge- 34-35 inches was the biggest, but decent fish and there was quite a few there. There was a lot of bait around- it looks like we're in for good fishing in the weeks to come.

We'll be fishing on Saturdays and Sundays, 2 trips a day, 6am and 1pm. Check our website (www.BlackHawkSportFishing.com) for our full schedule, including After Work Special trips, night bass trips, and our new fluke trips.
