Does anyone know if there are any security restrictions in NY Harbor or the East River at present?

Need to take a boat down from Greenwich, CT to Sandy Hook this weekend. Want to make sure that there is nothing that will prevent it.

Any ideas on who to call to inquire?

I'd call the NYC Police- Marine patrol and the Coast Guard. I've seen some commercial boats in the east river since 9-11.

Thanks for the quick respoonse. I called the NYPD Harbor Unit.

Very nice, very professional officer told me that there are no restrictions in effect right now.

He did emphasize that we should not go near shore by the UN Building, Gracie Mansion, the NYFD Fireboat Station, Municipal docks and of course Riker's. He ended by saying, "When you come to the bridges, don't even look up and don't slow down!''LOL!

Mad Mahi, I made the trip from LI Sound to Sandy Hook many times. It's not a bad run just keep it at steady speed. All restriction have been lifted since 9/11 including the 10mph. Enjoy the ride.
