Hey there all,

I have just moved to Milford, CT. Arrived today. I know there is some good fishing around here, I am on Broadway on the Sound down in Devon right now.

Someone please hit me up and show me what's the deal up here. I moved from the south east coast of VA near Norfolk and I am used to fisning Cape Hatteras in NC.

Where can I fish either from the beach/rocks or near a bridge/pier? Are there any places that I can use chest waders and get out in the water to catch some trout or drum? Where are the stripers at that can be caught from shore.

I am here for 2 months alone while the family finishes up school, I took a job in Norwalk.

Anyone in my neighborhood feeling neighborly that would help a guy out?

Greyson

MILFORD FISHING

Try the Middlebank party boat out of Bridgeport. www.middlebank.tv
Great boat when the season gets underway. From the shore, I only have experience a long time ago fishing off the jetty in Milford at Gulf Beach for fluke. Not sure that is still a good spot but some of the others on this site might have an update. It's been quite a few years since I fished there.

The "Hot spot" up there is the mouth of the Housatonic river. There is access from the jetties and from the beach. I don't know what parking is like around there. That's about all I know about the area. I'm in the process of moving back to CT, I'm working in westport, wave as you drive by!

Welcome to Ct. There are times when you can get sea trout, we call them weakfish, off the west haven beaches. Like Mike said the mouth of the Housy is a great place to put on the waders and try for some big bass. There is a way to get out on the sand bar at Charles Island at low tide, but best to ask the locals and at the local tackle shops. A great tackle shop is Stratford bait and tackle, not too far from you. Bond's dock is a place the public can fish from on the Housatonic in Stratford.
