i want to get startted out on fly fishing. I would like to begin with fising for panfish in a small lake. What light setup would youz recommend for this situation? and how would i use it?

If you just want to target just panfish a light rod 4wt. or 5wt. with floating line, and about 4-6 feet of leader you don't really need tapered leader for panfish. A click prawl reel will be all you need. This setup will be a blast. For flies get some small woolly buggers and leech partterns size 6 & 8, fog poppers are great too, also good are attractor dry flies, stimulators, madam x, spider patterns. If your fishing areas with lots of lilly pads get frog popper flies with weed guards, you can toss them into the open water in the pads pop them as you retrieve them in the open water then slowly pull them up and over the pads till the next patch of open water.
