OK here's the story...last night we are fishing at Demo. Pt. the party boats are pretty close to the shore and my husbands line gets tangled with a guy on the boat. The guy thought he had a fish and when the shipmate realized he was caught in our line he cut it (with a 10.00 lure on it.) The boat drifted down the shore in the inlet and we decided to call it a night. Next thing you know the boat is right up on shore and the guys on the boat are cursing us out (with our kids there) and the captain is on the loudspeaker saying he is calling the park police on us and he is announcing our license plate number and saying that we are throwing lures at his boat!? What is up with that??? Is this normal behavior? I was and still am completely appalled that the captain would drive his boat to the shore just to curse us out. Isn't it a bit dangerous to bring that size boat so close to shore? We just started fishing here last season so maybe there are unspoken rules we are not familiar with. What are you supposed to do when the party boats are that close? Anyway...just needed to vent thanks for listening.

OUCH!

This has been my beef too because too many party boat captains act like they own the water. However, it's also possible that the captain was fed wrong information by either his mates or the fares. Either way, he owes you an appology!!!

PLEASE tell us the name of the boat!

Here's one

2 weeks ago I'm drifting for Fluke on the North shore 11b, eatons neck Triangle.
I'm out there drifting the tip of the triangle and it's slow.
then the Noli Eileen comes out and is drifting just inside the tip, before long she has a few other private boats around her all doing the same drift.
We decide to drift there too.
Now keep in mind I'm careful not to drift ahead of anyone that goes back up to drift again and that the structure is the structure.....no secret.
anyway as I pull up for a second or third drift the Capt of the noli steps out of the cabin and yells to me:"I only stopped here to see if you would follow me.....I guess I was right" throws his half eaten apple in the water towards my boat and turns his back.
I felt this was arrogant so I shot back:"Well it's just that your such a great capt....aside from being a real a**hole."
I was not following him I was just drifting the structure like everyone else......anyway I figured I'd vent a little too.

thanks for the info

We were supposed to go on the Noli Eileen with some family this Sunday. I think I will pass on that boat. This is the livelihood of these captains, you'd think they'd be a bit more courteous considering that. Don't they know we are all going to talk and spread the word on their attitudes?
To spread some good words...The Ace and Prowler out of Port. Jeff are great! Awesome captains and shipmates, old boats but great people and great fishing.
