Somebody please say something good about the almost here season. I need some encouragement that the L.I.S. Flounder fishing will be just great this year and, thou short, the Blackfish season will be spectacular. Any takers?

Ok, how about the Bass? Hmmm, Bluefish? Come on guys. Let's get going!!!

I just need some help gnawing out of this cabin fever.

Something good....

We had a decent bite last year in the back bays for the flapjacks..1 1/4 to 2 lbs. A few freinds also had it good up near greanwich. I normally dont blackfish in the spring.

Bassing was really good in the sound for us last year, with fish up to 33 lbs. Mostly a night bite and pre-dawn and we mostly did C&R. Bluefish are always fun on lite tackle..its great when they attack a surface plug and as the season went on there were some monster blues in the mid teans.

Can't wait for this season to start!

tight lines,

Back Bay Fly fishing was a blast along with light tackle spinning for Bass on soft plastics and small Yo-Zuri's..With not so much rain and snow this season, the water should be a little cleaner (fingers crossed)and we should see plenty of bait as plenty was abundant last year.

Bass fishing was very good early and we did well Fluke fishing too. Pulling Bunker Spoons in the fall was productive but fish were a lot smaller than in the Spring.

The Albies and Bonita made an appearance and decided to troll Japanese feathers on the troll and managed some nice Albies. Bones were around and we did not hook up even after seeding an area with peanuts. My thinking was there were an unreal amount of peanuts around and the bones had a real easy pick of them.

Should be an interesting season...Tight lines to all!
