I need some info on e-glass or glass comp. blank. This rod is for tog fishing with 6-10 oz 30-40lb PP line.I have a STAR ROD DLX 28X. I like the modorate action of the rod , but hoped for a longer rod (8') and longer butt. The rod has plenty of power and duralblity. Can anyone suggest a one peice blank in either glass or graphite composite blank. I have done some research but have little success in finding a blank with that action & length with glass durablity and light tip for sensativety. Any info would be appreciated.

ccfish, did you give calstar a look.. I like the GFX700L for tog fishing you can buy it in a 8' blank GFX800L 8 to 10oz not a problem..For a faster blank you can go with a GF800L..They also make very nice all glass rods..

I have built some lamiglas blanks for tog fishing the BMB963M is one..The tri-flex are nice TXC961M..

If you like soft rods seeker makes good rod blanks..

LAMI

BT-963-MB or the BT-1083-MB, Nice Parabolic bend with tons of power the SMB and or MB 1143 were the best bang for a glass tog stick, alas they have been discontinued, I would also consider the more "forgiving" GFX 700-800M Calstar, this blank is nice with braid......

Thanks guys , i was looking at the lami and calstar as a choice of rods. I can always custom them to my fitting. Most rods that are over 7' are beef rods and i perfer a softer action for togs since i am using PP line. My specs for an ideal rod for PB tog fishing is 7'6" or longer with at least 18" butt with enough backbone for 6-12 ozs. I've seen a few rods that are custom made i can't remember the blanks they used:mad: , but i'll keep searching or remember the blanks he used. Anyways thanks for the info and have a HAPPY AND SAFE NEW YEARS!!!!!

E-glass blanks

Check out the e-glass blanks from batson.Captain neil builds on these and probably has them in stock for purchase. SWB80M AND SWB80MH are 8' blanks I have these in 7 footers and have used them both for TOG.The good captain also offers them in his long islander series that is very moderatly priced,You can get any but lenth you like.If you want a graphite a gusa 80 mega mag would work,KING BILLY 40 reccomended this rod to me and many others it has serious power and is light as a feather.

ccfish,

If you have a blank you really like and it only comes in 7' then extend the butt for the length you desire. Easy to do.

I have the Batson Forecast SWB 80 MH in stock and also the H.

The MB 114 3F is still available.

Hope this helps.

Capt Neil
