Wow, are you telling me that you are starting to pick up the long rod?
As for fly patterns?There are many patterns to tie! It also depends what you are targeting and which part of the month you are planning to fish?
Why? As you may already know, early season starts with (small pattern) sandeels, spearing and it progresses to (medium size pattern) snappers, kingfish, larger spearing, crabs, etc?. and the season ends with (larger patterns) bunker, peanuts, herring? etc? Again, it all depends!
