Myself and Joe Hifko had the privilage of taking Kilsong and his friend Choi fishing yesterday. After there 9 hr drive down we headed out around 7am. It was less than perfect conditions but warm and fishable. First stop 16nm, 7 Nice Gags and a handful of Keeper Sea Bass...Wind started to lay down so we ran another 20 or so nm to 130 ft of water and found a nice pile of Reds, Scamps, and Gags. Mixed in was all the vermillian Snappper you wanted, Trigger Fish, Silver porgies, King Mackleral, Cobia and to top it off Kil caught a nice Flounder. It turned out to be a real mixed bag. It was great to fish with Kil again he is a true gentlemen and a great fisherman. His friend Choi was the hot hand yesterday, everytime you turned around he was hooked up. I look foward to many more trips with Kilsong and his friends. Ken Mullen

how big were the grouper Most groupers we caught were over 10 lbs. Choi got a few nice red grouper in 25 - 30 lbs range. I believe the NC state record red grouper is 31- 33 lbs which was caught in the same areas we fished.

I'M LOOKING FOR ANOTHER UPDATE!! BTW, if anyone is interested in fishing with captain Ken out of Morehead I MAY have a spot open fishing bait and jigs for groupers, once we get our limit we have the opportunity of running into mahi/wahoo jigging or trolling and also jigging amberjacks again. The charter I have is Sunday June 1st. Anyone interested PM me.
