Well we were at it again today, Kilsong drove back down today to pound the grouper again. He said he wanted to catch a 30lb Red.. He did!! The fishing was good again today, Most fish were in the teens with a few in the 20's and of course Kils 30 plus.we had a good mix of fish as well snapper, Triggers, porgies and cobia. The fishing will only get better as we move toward the summer. Capt Ken Mullen

Ken, I posted this on the previous report: if anyone is interested in fishing with captain Ken out of Morehead I MAY have a spot or 2 open fishing bait and jigs for groupers, once we get our limit we have the opportunity of running into mahi/wahoo jigging or trolling and also jigging amberjacks again. The charter I have is Sunday June 1st. Anyone interested PM me.

Nice to see you guys got them, makes me wish I was going down there this week!!

The red grouper in the picture doesn't look big, but it is actually a very nice red grouper. This fish turned out to be 29.4 oz. Considering new NC red grouper record which was caught on Oct 13, 2007 out of Atlantic Beach, NC is 33 lbs 8 oz, it is a trophy red grouper. Look at the jig at the tail. There are many ways to catch fish on jigs. :)

did you use the electric reel much?
Are you talking to me ? :)
I don't use electric reels for anything, but electric reels are very effective to catch groupers.
