HO HUM

In the past I have been dissapointed in this show. There have been few if any manufacturers of tackle or guns. It is overloaded with charter captains and hunting lodges hawking their wares. I'll wait for the Rockland and freeport shows. Much better, each in their own way.

I do usually go to the Nassau show, and it is a pretty week show. The only reason I go is to get some relief from Cabin Fever, and I take the kids to get them out of the house. The Freeport show in February is a much better, focused fishing show, with equipment and terminal tackle that is made for our area. It is small, but well worth the trip.
The Rockland county show is kinda the Godfather of all the shows. They do have a ton of worthwhile booths. IMHO, it's almost too big.

Yes, a bit disappointing. Definitely not worth 10 bucks and a seven buck hotdog soda combo, but after this month's weather, who cared. The "other website" had a seminar by Chuck Adams of Causeway Tackle that was excellent. Virtually no boating supplies, but fishing tackle was plentiful and at least matched sale prices during the season. Still need to go to some real gunshows as either Nassau County liberals or lazy gun shop owners were responsible for a complete lack of ammunition and magazines for sale. Hadn't been to this one in 8 or 9 years, and except for the seminars would say I'll be retired before I return again.

Killed Some Time

I went with Togmaster and it was OK.

Picked up some feathers and plastic for fluke rigs. That is about it for purchases.

Got to met Capt. Neil from the site and also Capt. John from the Shini**** Star. Had some good conversations and some real good laughs.

All in all not a true fishing show. Wainting for Freeport which is right after the BASH and hope to get some deals on some Lamiglass rods. Hopefully they will have a booth there.
