Saw the UPS truck down the road. Could it be??? Is he gonna stop here??? Is it my Yo-zuri order??? Here he comes.....please slow down, slow down....uh oh, he's going to fast. Darn, I guess not today as I see him pass by me. :( Wait, he's making a U turn. No way, can't be.....OMG, he's stopping.

I hold my breath until I see the size of the box. He gets out of the truck with the perfect size box. He says are you Barbara? I say YES. He says here you go. I said do I have to sign for that while I'm half way down my driveway already...
he says, no it's okay. I say THANKYOU!

Rip open the box to get a first glimpse at there new Sashimi Lures. There not here, rats, back ordered...

Well I have part of the order to keep me at bay. :) I will eagerly be awaiting the UPS man for my Sashimi's.

I know this may sound sick to some of you guys that I can get this excited over a plug order. But it's the simple things in life that do it for me.

Actually, getting that excited is fairly normal for those with our addiction.
I went to the Cup race at Martinsville VA, last weekend. On the way back on rt 78 in Pottsville PA there is a Cabelas store. My father, brother, nephew and I all agreed to get off the next exit to turn around.
The place is gigantic. We walk in and there was a giant mountain filled with taxidermied animals. I glance to my right and in the distance I see rods sticking up over the clothing that was in my way. At a quick pace I weave over to the fishing section. Rows and rows and rows and rows of fishing stuff. I had no idea where to start. Salt ? Fresh? I think I may have been sweating at this point.
We had a plan to meet back at the entrance in 45 minutes. I passed that mark by about 15 minutes.
That was one of the highlights of the trip. I don't think I have ever been as excited about fishing tackle in my life. You are not alone.

Hi Capt Barbara,

Now you have done it! Do you realize the pic of those beautiful lures just gave away your secret weapons! The lure company will be happy but they will be used to catch your fish!

Have a great season, especially with a new vessel.

More Secret Weapons Revealed..

The Yo-Zuri darter in the sardine pattern. On their website they claim that it "triggers explosive strikes"...their not kidding!!

Off Robert Moses/Jones inlets from Thanksgiving into December there are massive clouds of birds working over bass that looks like a sure hook up and often is. But sometimes there is allot of tiny rainbait and not too many bass on them or just plain allot of fussy as **** bass. That makes for frustrating fishing when they won't even take rubber shads and bass assasians.

But the Yo-Zuri darter looks like an early run baby herring pre-occupied with gobbling up tiny anchovies and it gets them every time.

Even had one lunatic bass so **** bent on stealing the plug from another one's mouth that I was fighting that he leaped at least 5 or 6 times clear out of the water like a salmon ...even banging his head on the side of the boat. Never quiting... I think he gave me a dirty look as I swung his buddy aboard and the plug (which all three of us adore) in the boat.

Don't feel guilty Capt. Barb...those pretty Yo-Zuri plugs make bass and fisherman alike full of passion :)

Hit the one up in CT on my way back from a biz trip in late November. That's the time of year I DONT SPEND knowing I'm going to be blowing the wad on kids Christmas stuff. I went in and saw the fishing and fly shop within the store. Like an addict recovered in AA from his demons, I walked PAST all those goodies and bought my son a new tackle bag, Bobber Christmas lights, Rapala fishing game on Wii, around $25.00 worth of lures, and a hat all under the credit from SANTA CLAUS come Christmas! Now when the season gets cookin, and I've had it from tossing flies, I'll have to beg him to use one of those yozuris I bought that Santa gave him?

You are a most patient man haulersan. I did limit my spending SEVERELY. The only thing that sucks is they have no wood.

I have another story. I bought a bunch of lures from Ebay. I was, again, very excited to get these things. I saw a good size box on my doorstep when I got home. I ran in and proceeded to rip this box to shreds. Much to my dismay it was a large box of My Little Pony's that my wife collects, restores and resells.
I put the box aside and forgot to tell her about it. The next day she tore into a box of fishing lures and was equally dismayed when it wasn't Ponies. *** for Tat I guess

the yo-sure darters are more like bombers than darters in the water. also add a single hook with buck tail to the rear hook and cath alot more fish. that is my go to plug for night plugging in fall and summer in the sound.

Nice collection.

I always get Fluke the first week of May. Being our season doesn't open unti May 15th. I think it's gonna be a slaughter.
Due to the late start and the abundance of bait.
I await the season with baited breath.

Thanks for pointing that out..

I work a Yo-Zuri darter by just casting out and reeling in straight as they just wiggle. And thanks for the tip. The single hook modification on the tial will make unhooking bluefish easier in addition to better action..
